Guided walks
The three-hour Leitha Mountains themed walks visit the most attractive sites in the area and are led by trained guides who are very knowledgeable about local plants and animals and familiar with the history and customs of the entire region.
Choose from guided medicinal herb walks and nature and cultural history walks focusing on the cultural landscape, geology, ecology, birdlife and archaeology.
Cyclist's paradise
The well-signposted B12 Kirschblüten cycle path runs through Purbach and its impressive scenery at the foot of the Leitha Mountains. The challenging path rewards ambitious cyclists with an outstanding panoramic view of Lake Neusiedl and beyond to the Hungarian lowlands. Display boards are dotted along the 40 km path, containing information about the local culture and landscape. The route passes vineyards and thousands of cherry trees, which transform the region into a sea of white blossom between mid April and mid May (depending on the weather) and make the ride an unforgettable experience.
Türkenhain solar-heated water world
Plenty of fun awaits bathers in the solar-heated pool, the 35m long slide, wild water river and underwater bubbler. The huge lawn is perfect for adults to relax while the young ones have fun in the kids’ pool and on two beach volleyball courts.
Other leisure activities include a skater park, large playground with climbing wall, tennis courts, boat hire, cycle hire, in-line skates hire, sailing trips on the catamaran Finiki, pit pat (a combination of mini golf and billiards), Nordic walking etc.
Marina
Purbach is very proud of its well-equipped marina, with space for 100 sailing boats. Its close proximity to the town centre and the opportunity to park in the quiet harbour area near the boats make it particularly popular with sailors.
